Privacy

puzl is a small, non-commercial jigsaw puzzle site, run privately in Denmark. This notice explains what puzl stores about you, why, and what you can do about it.

Who is responsible

The person who runs puzl at puzl.saaseye.eu. Contact: puzl@saaseye.eu.

What puzl stores

Why

To provide the site you signed up for (your account, puzzles, progress and leaderboards), to send the emails it needs (confirming your address, password resets, shares), and to protect it against abuse. The legal bases are the service you asked for (GDPR article 6(1)(b)) and the legitimate interest in keeping the site safe (article 6(1)(f)).

Who sees what

Other users see your user name (for example on leaderboards and as the owner of your public puzzles), your avatar, and your public puzzles. Public puzzles (their title, your user name and a preview of the picture) can also be seen without an account: on puzl's front page, and when a link to one is shared, for example in a chat. Your email address is never shown to anyone. Private puzzles are seen only by you, the people you share them with, and the administrator.

Where the data is, and who else handles it

On a server in Denmark run by puzl. Emails are sent through Brevo (France, EU), which handles the recipient's address and the email for that purpose only. Nothing is sold or used for advertising, and there is no tracking or analytics.

Cookies

Only two, both needed for the site to work: one keeps you signed in, the other remembers your language before you sign in. No tracking cookies, so there's no cookie banner.

How long

As long as your account exists. When you delete your account (in Settings), your account, puzzles, pictures, avatar, progress and shares are deleted at once, and your name is removed from the activity log. Backups are kept for 14 days, so after that nothing of it is left.

Your rights

You can see what puzl stores about you, have it corrected, delete your account yourself in Settings, get a copy of your data, and object to its use: write to puzl@saaseye.eu. You can also complain to the Danish Data Protection Agency (Datatilsynet, datatilsynet.dk).
